  Anyway, Thank you to Katti Sta. Ana and the pioneers for forming this organization. I found out about this group earlier this year while watching cycling videos on YouTube. I came across a video of the 2010 Tour of the Fireflies then a video of Firefly Brigade.
  
  I would like to ask the admin specially Katti Sta. Ana to discourage the purchase of carbon fiber bicycles and to make it known in her speeches and in writing/publications. To me (and i hope you agree), carbon fiber bikes are not a form of sustainable transportation. They are very expensive and cannot be recycled. Also, they cannot be repaired/maintained as easy as an aluminum or steel bike. A simple tightening of a screw or nut needs a special tool for proper torque or you risk ruining a very expensive bike. Riders who currently use these bikes dont have to get rid of them but have to make sure that their bikes will last a very long time. I have a carbon fiber bike myself and regret buying it. For the same price, i could have bought 2 or 3 quality aluminum or steel bikes.
